3. Verification Levels

3.1 Phone/Email Verification (Level 1)

Phone Verified

  • Quick SMS or email verification
  • Required for all sellers
  • Instant activation

3.2 Identity & Address Verification (Level 2)

Verified Seller

  • Government ID document verification
  • Proof of address validation
  • Selfie with ID and challenge code
  • Review within 24-48 hours
  • Required for high-risk categories (vehicles, real estate, electronics, etc.)

4. Documents We Accept

4.1 Valid Government IDs

  • Nigerian National Identity Card (NIN)
  • International Passport
  • Driver's License
  • Voter's Card

4.2 Proof of Address (must be dated within 90 days)

  • Utility bill (electricity, water, internet)
  • Bank statement
  • Tenancy agreement
  • Government correspondence

4.3 Optional Documents

  • NIN slip (speeds up verification)
  • Business registration (for business accounts)

5. Verification Process

Submit

Upload your documents through our secure portal. All files are encrypted during transfer.

Review

Our team reviews your documents within 24-48 hours. Automated checks verify authenticity.

Approve

Once approved, you get the Verified Seller badge and access to all categories.

Maintain

Keep your information current. Verification may need renewal if details change.

6. Security Measures

  • Encryption: All documents encrypted at rest and in transit (AES-256)
  • Secure Storage: Documents stored in private S3 buckets with restricted access
  • Access Control: Only authorized reviewers can view verification documents
  • Audit Trail: Every document access is logged with timestamp and reviewer ID
  • Time-Limited Links: Document URLs expire after 10 minutes

7. Data Retention

We retain verification documents for 18 months from submission date, unless:

  • You request earlier deletion (contact support)
  • Legal or regulatory requirements mandate longer retention
  • Active disputes or investigations are ongoing

After the retention period, documents are automatically purged from our systems. Metadata (verification status, dates) is retained for audit purposes.

8. Your Rights

  • Access: Request copies of your verification documents
  • Correction: Update incorrect information
  • Deletion: Request early deletion of your documents
  • Objection: Object to automated decision-making
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

9. Verification Rejection

Your verification may be rejected if:

  • Documents are expired, unreadable, or poor quality
  • Information doesn't match across documents
  • Suspected fraudulent or altered documents
  • Proof of address is older than 90 days
  • Challenge code not visible in selfie

If rejected, you'll receive specific feedback and can resubmit within 24 hours.
