Account Deletion & Data Removal

How deletion works and what is removed
Deleting your account is permanent after a short grace period. Please review what is removed and what may be retained for compliance.

How to delete your account

  1. Go to Profile → Settings.
  2. Scroll to Delete Account.
  3. Select a reason and confirm.
    • If you signed in with Google, you can proceed without a password.
  4. Your account is immediately disabled and you are logged out.

Grace period

After you request deletion, your account remains disabled for up to 90 days. If you sign in during this period, deletion is canceled and your account is reactivated.

What is deleted (at final purge)

When the deletion completes (or if an admin performs an immediate hard deletion), the following are removed:

  • Account & profile (username, profile, preferences)
  • Listings and media (your listings and listing images)
  • Messaging (threads and messages you participated in)
  • Notifications (including thread-related notifications)
  • Engagement (your favorites and favorites on your listings)
  • Reports (ad reports you filed and those on your listings)
  • Verification records (OTP verifications, document verifications, avatar changes)
  • File metadata (content hashes and upload records tied to your account/listings)

Note: Social media artifacts associated with your listings (e.g., TikTok posts/videos/jobs) are removed via linked deletions or database cascades.

What may be retained temporarily

  • Security/audit logs for a short period (e.g., ~90 days) for fraud prevention and security.
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics that cannot identify you.
  • Legally required records (e.g., transactions) for statutory periods.
